Findlay guard Dulkys to play in All-Star game

Findlay College Prep guard Deividas Dulkys might be able to exact some revenge Sunday from the Pilots' lone loss of the season.

The high-flying shooter will participate in the Under Armour Capital Classic game at the University of Maryland.

It will be an opportunity for him to become familiar with the Terrapins' Comcast Center, which will be a regular Atlantic Coast Conference stop for the Florida State-bound Dulkys.

In addition, Dulkys will play on a U.S. All-Star team whose Capital All-Stars opponent will include guard Chris Braswell and center Roscoe Davis, from Hargrave Military Academy in Virginia.

Hargrave upended Findlay in the title game of the National Prep School championship last month in New York, capping the Pilots’ season at 32-1.

Michael Jordan formerly sponsored the Capital Classic, and he, Patrick Ewing, Earvin "Magic" Johnson, Dominique Wilkins, LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul have all played in the game.

"Usually kids who shoot as well as he does are just that, shooters," says Findlay coach Mike Peck of Dulkys. "Deividas is a great rebounder, he’s strong and athletic. He's a tough kid. The physicality of the game is a non-issue with him."

Dulkys, from Lithuania, is a dunking machine. When he first visited Findlay two years ago, he was wearing jeans and unlaced tennis shoes when Peck picked him up at McCarran International Airport.

When they reached the gym, Dulkys joined his teammates-to-be and executed a two-handed reverse jam.

"And he had just gotten off the plane, mind you," Peck says. "I was like, Wow. That kid’s athletic. He has a chance."
