The name Club Nikki is soon to be supplanted by RPM Nightclub at Tropicana. The hotel announced today that RPM Nightclub would be formally launched New Year’s Eve weekend. That weekend starts Dec. 30.

Operated by the Tropicana, RPM will be open Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays beginning at 10:30 p.m. According to a news release, “The nightclub will feature today’s hottest stars and top recording artists, as well as a variety of world-class DJs, dancers and specialty acts.” One such specialty act, a Michael Jackson impressionist, has already been featured at the club.

Tropicana ended its partnership with its original club and pool operator, Nikki Beach, in September. The stated reason issued by the Trop was that the Miami-based nightclub corporation had contractually failed to meet a “net income” at the hotel. The name Club Nikki will remain in place until Dec. 30, though the Trop has been running the nightclub since cutting loose Nikki Beach on Sept. 24.

Taking over as club manager of the 16,500-square-foot space is Las Vegas nightlife veteran Richard Wilk, who most recently was a club official at the Hard Rock Hotel.
