The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas is known for its appetite for large-scale events. Fittingly, the resort is serving as the stage for one of cable TV’s most popular culinary series.

The Cosmopolitan is to be featured on the upcoming Season 4 of “Top Chef Masters,” which premieres July 25. During a 10-week filming schedule in 2011, a dozen of the best celebrity chefs in the country lived at the resort and competed at its various restaurants during filming.

Las Vegas figured prominently in Season 3 of the series, as Mary Sue Milliken of Border Grill at Mandalay Bay was runner-up to champ Floyd Cardoz. In Season 2, Rick Moonen of RM Seafood at Mandalay Bay finished second to Marcus Samuelsson.

The show is again hosted by Curtis Stone (who also hosts Bravo’s “Around the World in 80 Plates”), and the judging panel are holdovers James Oseland and Ruth Reichl, joined by newcomers Krista Simmons and Francis Lam. A full accounting of the cast can be found at the Bravo website. Chef'testants (as they are called) compete for a $100,000 grand prize to the charity of his or her choice.

Celebs, too, will take part in the series as guest judges. The official list includes boxing great Sugar Ray Leonard, folk-rock group Indigo Girls, recent House of Blues Las Vegas headliner Dita Von Teese, pop-rock band the B-52’s, Olympic skating gold medal winner Brian Boitano and the ever-present Holly Madison.

In a statement e-mailed by the hotel's PR staff today, Cosmopolitan Chief Marketing Officer Lisa Marchese said: “We are very excited and honored that The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas was chosen by Bravo TV to serve as the host resort for “Top Chef Masters” Season 4. It was great having the celebrity Chef’testants living in and competing throughout the hotel as well as interacting with our celebrated chefs.”

Bubbly about being chosen as the series’ host resort, Cosmopolitan officials have set a season premiere party for cast members and invited guests for 9 p.m. July 25 at Boulevard Pool. The Cosmopolitan also will host a weekly series of viewing parties at Boulevard Pool each Wednesday at 9 p.m. Those viewing parties are open to the public.
