Time for tests and evaluations

This has been a ridiculously busy week. Monday was test day for my Algebra 2 classes, and Wednesday was test day for my Applied Algebra 1B classes. The Algebra 2 tests went really well, and the scores were very good overall. The Algebra 1B tests were a different story. Hardly anyone finished it on Wednesday, so I decided that they needed another day to finish it. They were given the entire class on Thursday to finish the tests, and I think that helped. I will have to try and write a shorter test next time.

Thursday, during my Computer Science class, was my first observation. Mr. Greenburg, the assistant principal who will be observing me this year, gave me a glowing evaluation. It was great to have a good evaluation, especially for the first observation, and during the class that is the most difficult for me to plan. For the most part, all of my students are doing well, but there are a couple of students who refuse to put forth any effort at all. I am trying to come up with some ways to get them interested, but so far I have not had any success with that.
