Metro Police responded to a call that a man had been shot in the neck near Bonanza High School today at 1:29 p.m.
A Metro spokesperson said the shooting was triggered by some sort of brawl in a nearby apartment complex that spilled onto Torrey Pines Drive near Del Rey Avenue, where the shooting occurred.
The male victim was taken to University Medical Center with a neck wound.
Police say the suspect is still on the loose, but have not provided a description at this time.
Neither the victim nor the suspect were Bonanza students.
Police had increased patrols in the area after 15-year-old Christopher Privett was shot to death after school outside of Palo Verde High School on Alta Drive Friday.
