Dust warning for the weekend

Gusty winds 10 to 20 mph late Saturday and Sunday with gusts up to 50 mph prompted Clark County Air Quality officials to warn residents and local construction sites of possibly blowing dust.

While temperatures will soar into the mid to high 70s today and Saturday, once winds shift from the southwest to the north on Sunday, expect daytime highs in the 60s, a 10 to 15 degree drop in temperatures, the National Weather Service says.

A dust advisory is issued by the county as part of an effort to control dust clouds from blowing across the valley from land under construction.

While unhealthful dust levels are not occurring, those with health problems can check Clark County's Web site for the latest.
