CSN’s Kazmar comes up shorts for Padres

In his first major league game, Sean Kazmar, the first College of Southern Nevada product to play in the major leagues, got a base hit off the Milwaukee Brewers' (for a few more days, anyway) CC Sabathia.

Now this.

That's Kazmar in the second photo, front right, shock of dark hair.

I guess the other guys are ballplayers, too, although they remind me of the waitresses at the Omaha Hooters.

Kazmar may never recover from the Padres' annual rookie hazing stunt.

Now I know why the Padres are in last place. It's not because they make their rookies dress up as Hooters girls, but because there are 16 of them in these pictures.

Kazmar, a shortstop, is batting .205, with eight hits in 39 at-bats since being recalled.

If you were a kid in the 1960s, you probably remember rookie star baseball cards, which had pictures of two bonus babies on front. But I don't ever recall seeing a future phenom dressed in a white tank top and tight orange shorts. Not even Bill "Spaceman" Lee.
