You have to give the Review-Journal credit for going after the city folks for all that promotional spending with taxpayer dollars:
There are some great facts in that story about the shameless and shameful self-promotionalism on Stewart Avenue and even a reference to a quote from an ethicist. Way to go RJ!
Oh, one minor thing: Three words seem to have been left out of the RJ editorial: Las Vegas Sun. You see, that's where the story appeared on which the RJ based its editorial:
No credit. No reference. In fact, a false implication that this was an RJ story. This is akin to the New York Times writing an editorial about a story that appeared in The Wall Street Journal -- and not mentioning the source.
This is no ordinary breach of protocol -- this is a totally unethical practice that no other reputable newspaper would countenance. Excuse me, I said reputable. I should have said that there is a phrase for this behavior when it comes to the RJ: Par for the course.
