This was sent today by Silver State Arena principal Chris Milam, describing a move to downtown Las Vegas that will surprise many county and Strip officials (attachments are at right):

An updated project plan is attached. It's been a couple months, so in brief, we found a more welcoming and supportive political and business environment in the City, and more space to work with as well. So we moved up the road an exit (from Sahara to Charleston).

Given the expanded scale of this effort, the project is now better placed at the confluence of the highways in any event. There is a legend to the right of the drawings. I hope you like what you see. We'll keep you posted periodically on our progress.

Just to tackle one subject (out of many) this project has nothing to do with any plans of the Cordish Co. on the existing City Hall site. The land at Symphony Park was sold to private owners. We are acquiring their rights directly from them, and developing these venues ourselves. We are not in partnership with the City. These are wholly privately owned venues on private property.

I hope this finds both of you and your families well. We look forward to speaking soon and working with you in the future. As always, if there are any questions, feel free to call me directly at 702-569-6545.
