The Binion family, lobbyist Jay Brown and attorney Will Kemp were responsible for $50,000 out of the just under $100,000 developer Ric Truesdell raised for that special Las Vegas council election, disclosures show.
The Binions, through four separate contributions, gave $20,000; Brown, through himself and an LLC, gave $10,000; and Kemp, through in-kind donations of A-Frames, gave $20,000. The Binion contributions are through himself, his wife (Phyllis Cope), his son, TJ Fechser, and a company Fechser runs (LV Sabres). Brown's LLC is called Washington DC Investments, which surely cries out for a Harry Reid joke (Reid and Brown go waaaaay back). And Kemp -- and this was news to me -- owns four A-Frame companies that are listed on the in-kind part of the form -- thank you, SOS website.
The rest of the money generally came from City Council insiders, including Mayor Carolyn Goodman ($5,000), lobbying firm Kaempfer Crowell ($2,000) and other developers and supplicants.
