UNLV men's basketball coach Lon Kruger makes so many public appearances, you never know where he's gonna turn up next.
-- On Thursday night, he'll host a fund-raiser for Savannah Reid, a 4-year-old stricken with cancer, at the Montana Meat Company Centennial location. Call 610-5556 for details.
-- On May 13-14, he will welcome several of the nation's top basketball coaches and sports fans from across the country to the first Coaches vs. Cancer Las Vegas Golf Classic, benefiting the American Cancer Society and Nevada Cancer Institute. Call 1-800-ACS-2345 for details. There will be a silent auction of sports memorabilia and one lucky winner will get to sit with Kruger at courtside of a Rebels game next year.
I heard that Wyoming fans are buying a bunch of tickets for their coach Heath Schroyer, in the hope that he might learn something.
