Ex-Rebels swingman Roberson suspended at Lafayette

Louisiana-Lafayette basketball coach Robert Lee indefinitely suspended former UNLV swingman Lamar Roberson on Thursday for conduct detrimental to the team.

The Daily Advertiser in Lafayette, La., reported that the 6-foot-8 junior did not sit on the bench during Thursday night’s overtime defeat to Arkansas-Little Rock.

Roberson, a Baton Rouge native, played a season-high 30 minutes in a victory over Denver on Jan. 3. He played a total of 12 minutes in the Ragin’ Cajuns next two games.

“When or if he returns depends on Lamar Roberson,” Lee said.

Roberson missed the season's first six games per NCAA transfer rules. He has averaged 6.7 points and 3.2 rebounds in nine games for Lafayette.

He went to Houston out of high school.

In other Ragin’ Cajuns news, ex-Rebels power forward Emmanuel Adeife started for the first time, getting two rebounds in 14 minutes, against Little Rock.
