Betting not so big for Big Game?

If it was going to be the first Super Bowl to have $100 million wagered on it at Nevada’s sports books, it sure didn’t look like it six hours before kickoff at the Hilton.

The big-game buzz was a mere murmur. Two dozen bettors moved swiftly through the queue. Eight windows were open, with more open to the right to accommodate a rush.

Jerseys abounded. Reggie Bush. Deion Sanders. Eric Dickerson. Dan Marino. Marshall Faulk. Barry Sanders. Hometown hero Stephen Jackson. Laurence Maroney. But Tom Brady’s barely edged Randy Moss’s in popularity.

As for that $100 million threshold? I did my part, putting a $5 bill, two ones and four quarters on overtime at 10-1 odds. That $88 will come in handy this week.
