Put up your Duke

Did you happen to catch Keyshawn Johnson's reference to the UNLV basketball team's loss to Duke in the 1991 Final Four during ESPN's post-Super Bowl coverage?

Johnson was trying to put the Patriots' stunning loss to the Giants in perspective when he dropped in a reference to one of the darkest days in UNLV sports history like one of Anderson Hunt's high-arcing jump shots.

Actually, it wasn't a bad analogy for a guy wearing a pale yellow scarf as a wardrobe accessory in 56-degree weather.

Like the Pats, the '91 Rebels also were undefeated and thought to be invincible before running into Bobby Hurley and Grant Hill and that darn Christian Laettner with his perfect haircut and boy band good looks at the Hoosier Dome in Indianapolis.

Duke's 79-77 victory transformed the Rebels' perfect season into an imperfect 34-1.

Or as Keyshawn himself might have put it, just give me the damn history lesson.
