Former College of Southern Nevada catcher Bryce Massanari will perform on the national stage tonight with Georgia in the College World Series in Omaha.
Massanari, a Centennial High graduate, carries an 18-game hitting streak into the best-of-three championship series against Fresno State.
He made a smooth transition at Georgia (44-23-1), where he's hitting .336 this season with 11 homers and 65 RBI, third-most on the Bulldogs. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound junior is slugging .531.
Fresno State (45-30) has Blake Amador, who played outfield at UNLV for one season, on its roster. A native of Turlock, Calif., Amador has hit .167 in 21 games as a reserve this season.
