Massanari plays in College World Series for Georgia

Former College of Southern Nevada catcher Bryce Massanari will perform on the national stage tonight with Georgia in the College World Series in Omaha.

Massanari, a Centennial High graduate, carries an 18-game hitting streak into the best-of-three championship series against Fresno State.

He made a smooth transition at Georgia (44-23-1), where he's hitting .336 this season with 11 homers and 65 RBI, third-most on the Bulldogs. The 6-foot-2, 215-pound junior is slugging .531.

Fresno State (45-30) has Blake Amador, who played outfield at UNLV for one season, on its roster. A native of Turlock, Calif., Amador has hit .167 in 21 games as a reserve this season.
