Here’s the latest installment of the Play of the Day, which uses odds from the South Point. Our three sports writers started with a $10,000 bankroll — fictional, of course.
St. Louis Cardinals (-110) at Colorado Rockies: $440 to win $400 : The Rockies have lost six straight games and return home to Denver after a long trip. They’ll be tired.
Although St. Louis starter Lance Lynn has lost three of his past four starts, he’s only performed poorly in one of those outings. He’s got a respectable 3.15 earned average on the season and is limiting opponents to a .243 batting average.
Colorado starter Jhoulys Chacin has been hit hard to the tune of an ugly 4.53 ERA. He’s struck out just 34 batters in 51 innings, meaning St. Louis batters will be putting balls in play all game.
Always play streaks in baseball — the Rockies' losing streak deserves a wager, especially at -110.
