John Jacobs’ Golf Schools and Academies Announce New Partnership with Golf Summerlin

John Jacobs’ Golf Schools and Academies to Offer Golf Schools and Customized Instruction at Highland Falls, Palm Valley and Eagle Crest Golf Clubs Beginning on Oct. 1, 2012

(Scottsdale, Ariz., Sept., 14 2012) – John Jacobs’ Golf Schools, the world leader in golf instruction, announces today its new partnership with Golf Summerlin in Las Vegas, Nev.

John Jacobs’ Golf Schools was the first of its kind to venture into the Las Vegas market more than 25 years ago when they started Golf Schools at the Desert Inn Golf Club. In 1991, the Schools expanded in Las Vegas, partnering with OB Sports at Angel Park Golf Club and in 1996, with Walters Golf at Stallion Mountain Golf Club. For the past several years, Las Vegas National Golf Club has been the single host site with the unique distinction in boasting the Jacobs’ name. According to Cliff Lawson, vice president of Jacobs’ Golf Management, “We have had a long history in Las Vegas and are excited about expanding our presence in this market, particularly with those who were instrumental in helping us get there.”

In 1996, Lawson and Joe Kelly, director of golf at Golf Summerlin and a member of the Las Vegas Hall of Fame, brought John Jacobs’ Golf Schools to Walters Golf. According to Kelly, “The Jacobs’ organization has presented a strong presence in golf instruction throughout Las Vegas for many years and we’re excited about the renewed relationship and seeing the tradition maintained at our 3 terrific golf courses.” The schools will be headed by long-time Las Vegas resident and PGA professional Pat O’Hara, along with LPGA member Kerri Clark, also a Las Vegas native with equally strong teaching credentials.

John Jacobs’ Golf Schools at Golf Summerlin will offer two and three day golf schools that cover every facet of the game from full-swing to short-game techniques and also include trouble shots, uneven lies and course management, in addition to a diverse range of private, semi-private and customized programs through their Academy programs.
