Regis University to close its campus in Henderson, NV in August 2013

(HENDERSON, NV.) – Regis University announced today that it will close its campus in Henderson, Nevada on Aug. 31, 2013 due to several years of insufficient enrollments.
The Henderson Campus, which has nine staff, one full-time faculty member and 35 affiliate faculty, will continue in operation until Aug. 31, 2013. There were 169 students enrolled at the Henderson Campus in 2011.
“This was an extremely difficult decision as we’ve truly enjoyed providing high-quality Jesuit higher education to many outstanding students in Henderson and being part of that community; however, we are committed to assisting our current Henderson Campus students with finishing their degrees,” said Roxanne Gonzales, dean of the Regis University College for Professional Studies (CPS).
During the next four semesters, Regis University will implement a process to ensure currently enrolled Henderson Campus students will still be able to complete the academic requirements necessary for graduation. The University will review all Henderson Campus ground-based students’ degree-plans to determine the courses each student needs to complete his or her degree, provide advising and to assist with transfers.
Regis University’s online degree programs will continue to be available to students in Henderson. The Regis University Testing Center located at Nellis AFB will continue to operate.
The Henderson Campus, which serves adult students through the University’s College for Professional Studies, officially celebrated its opening on Oct. 14, 1999. The campus is located at 1401 North Green Valley Parkway, Suite 100, Henderson, NV.
Since its founding, the Henderson Campus has served 2449 students.
“We’re grateful to the Henderson community for welcoming and embracing Regis University, and for allowing us to develop learners into leaders,” said Gonzales.
