Annual Walk Of Hope Returns To Benefit Shade Tree On April 26

7TH Annual 5K walk to support the women, children, and their pets facing domestic violence, critical issues

LAS VEGAS – The seventh annual Walk of Hope will return to Las Vegas on Saturday, April 26, at the new Craig Ranch Regional Park. The event will benefit The Shade Tree, Southern Nevada’s only 24-hour shelter designed specifically to meet the needs of women, children and their pets.

The Walk of Hope, sponsored by Walgreen’s and Clear Channel Media + Entertainment (My 93.1, Sunny 106.5 and 95.5 The Bull), is more than just a walk. It is a declaration that together, we can end domestic violence.

Participation in the Walk of Hope helps to save and change the lives of women, children, and their pets who have experienced domestic violence. All proceeds raised from the event help provide safe shelter, support, counseling and more services to victims and their children. This effort is made possible by the support and dedication of individuals, organizations, and businesses.

The 5k walk will be on Saturday, April 26, at the new Craig Ranch Regional Park, located at 628 W Craig Rd, North Las Vegas. Registration begins at 7 a.m. and the walk will officially kick off at 8:30 a.m. This family/pet-friendly event includes music, food, family activities, and a 3.1-mile scenic walk route through the recently opened Craig Ranch Regional Park.

Pre-registration is now available online at http://www.theshadetree.org/walkofhope_2014.html. Registration fees are $25/person, 12 years and older, and under age 12 is $12/person. You can also register by calling DeAndre Esteen at (702) 385-0072, ext. 104. Registration will also be available the day of the race. Please make checks payable to The Shade Tree, c/o Walk of Hope, 1 West Owens, North Las Vegas, NV 89030. All proceeds will go to benefit the women, children and their pets who call Shade Tree their home.
