COMMENTS: Santa Fe Gaming Corp. reported a profitable first quarter in 1996. It was incorrectly reported in SUN Tuesday that the company had losses for the quarter. Stockholders of Sahara Gaming Corp. in Las Vegas approved a name change to the Santa Fe Gaming Corp. during their annual meeting on Feb. 20. Santa Fe Gaming Corp. owns the Santa Fe hotel-casino in northwest Las Vegas and the Pioneer Hotel and Gambling Hall in Laughlin. The company also has proposed the Santa Fe Valley, a hotel, casino and ice rink facility near the Galleria at Sunset mall. Santa Fe's common and preferred stock will continue trading under the same symbols -- SGM and SGM.Pr. -- on the American Stock Exchange.
