Cyber Blood Drive planned in LV

United Blood Services of Nevada plans to conduct its first Cyber Blood Drive on Aug. 3.

National and statewide blood shortages have forced blood organizations to explore new avenues of promotion. United Blood Services may be the first agency of its kind to attempt to reach prospective donors through the Internet.

United Blood Services expects to reach several thousand new donors through its Internet site. Donors who arrive at the blood center and state that they learned of the blood drive through the Internet will receive a free T-shirt.

Local donation centers are at 6930 W. Charleston Blvd., 3935 E. Charleston Blvd. and 600 Whitney Ranch Road in Henderson.
