Stratosphere spokesman Tom Bruny said the statue "just disappeared in the middle of the night" a couple of weeks ago. He declined to say what was done with the statue or why it was removed.
Stupak conceived the idea for the 1,149-foot tower, and Minnesota-based Grand Casinos Inc. stepped in to finish the project when it ran into financial trouble.
Stupak and Grand Casinos parted ways earlier this year and he resigned as chairman following word of disappointing first-quarter results.
The resort opened April 29. One of the features was a "Wall of Fame," which featured Stupak's statue and a list of the original public investors.
