Notes: Nobilo, 36, of New Zealand, won his first PGA Tour title with an 8-foot par putt on the first extra hole. The seven-time European tour winner is in his first full season on the PGA Tour. ... Faxon, 1-5 in playoffs, tied for second last week in the MCI Classic and won the Freeport-McDermott Classic three weeks ago. ... The final round was played in heavy rain. ... U.S. Ryder Cup captain Tom Kite, who began the round tied for the lead with Faxon at 14-under, shot a 76 to tie for seventh at 278.

Notes: Lopez, 40, won her 48th career title, and first since the 1993 Youngstown-Warren LPGA Classic. The mother of three and wife of Cincinnati Reds manager Ray Knight eagled No. 13 on Saturday, holing a sand wedge shot from 83 yards. ... A severe thunderstorm washed out the final round Sunday.

Notes: Irwin made a 15-foot birdie putt on the final hole for his fourth victory in seven 1997 starts, and eighth in 42 tournaments since turning 50 in 1995. The three-time U.S. Open champion also won the MasterCard Championship, LG Championship and last week's PGA Seniors' Championship, along with the unofficial Senior Skins and Senior Slam. He leads the money list with $746,531. ... The final round was played in wind gusting to 50 mph.

Notes: James, 43, of England, won with a 3-foot par putt on the third extra hole after Norman missed a 10-foot par attempt. The seven-time Ryder Cup player has 18 victories on the European tour. ... Norman, who regained the top spot in the world rankings from Tom Lehman, forced the playoff with a 20-foot birdie putt on No. 18. The Australian also lost a playoff in the Dubai Desert Classic in March, falling to countryman Richard Green. ... Spain's Jose Maria Olazabal shot a 67 to tie for 11th at 281. Countryman Seve Ballesteros made his first cut in seven 1997 starts. He eagled the final hole with a 118-yard wedge shot for a 69 and a 285 total.
