Anthony Andrew Arcamo pleaded guilty to battery on a peace officer and interfering with a peace officer, both gross misdemeanors.
Arcamo made the plea before District Court Judge Archie E. Blake, who will sentence him.
He was arrested after a car in which he was a passenger crashed into a Fernley canal on Feb. 1. He became irate over the arrest of a companion for drunken driving, then picked up Deputy Brett Palmer.
Palmer was treated for head injuries at a hospital but returned to duty within a week.
The motorist, Thomas Robert Diaz Sr. of Fallon, will be sentenced Tuesday following his drunken driving conviction.
Diaz is a former Churchill County sheriff's deputy.
