Las Vegan to defend billiards title

Las Vegan Danny Medina will try to repeat his championship performance from a year ago when many of the world's top professional pool players gather for the Riviera Hotel Pro 8-Ball Open, a Camel Pro Billiards Series tour stop that began today at the Riviera. Other top players such as Steve Mizerak, Johnny Archer, Earl Strickland, Ralf Souquet and Nick Varner will compete in the $75,000 event. Open play will be held today-Thursday from 10 a.m.-midnight, with Friday's finals set for 4 p.m. Tickets are $7 and $20.
