Spa club to open inside Venetian

The Canyon Ranch SpaClub, a 63,000-square-foot health spa and fitness club, will be built atop an 11-acre pool deck. The facility will feature massages and skin care treatment along with weight rooms, a climbing wall, swimming pool and a beauty salon.
"The Canyon Ranch SpaClub will give people a taste and awareness of healthy living and take the traditional day spa and health/fitness club aspect one step further," said Mel Zuckerman, Canyon Ranch founder and chief executive officer.
Canyon Ranch also has health resorts in Tucson, Ariz., and Lenox, Mass.
The 35-story, 480-foot tower Venetian is scheduled to open on the Las Vegas Strip in April 1999.
