Letters: Healthy dose of patriotism missing from Las Vegas

Las Vegas is truly the most amazing success story in the annals of great American cities. Every time we come back for a vacation, we are thrilled with the new and exciting growth.

There is something missing in Las Vegas, however, and that is the feeling of flag patriotism, particularly in the downtown area and along the Strip. There should be more American flags displayed.

I think that if we saw more flags, it would show the patriotic respect due this great nation. There would also be an underlying realization that the phenomenal economic success of Las Vegas has its heart in the dynamics of the free enterprise system.

The next time we come to Las Vegas, it would be inspiring to see more American flags prominently displayed. Every one of the big hotel-casinos should convey to everyone what this wonderful country means to them.
