Workshop will focus on lake's clarity

The Lahontan Regional Water Quality Control Board session will focus on links between the sources of water quality degradation and efforts to correct the problems.

"It will definitely be an educational opportunity for people who want to know what's going on, what's being done and what they can do to help," said Lauri Kemper, chief of Lahontan's Lake Tahoe unit.

University of California, Davis researcher Dr. Alan Heyvaert will discuss the latest Tahoe research, and Chris Adair from Lahontan will talk about roles that different organizations play in protecting the lake.

Additionally, a panel will review ways that different agencies can use the information to best find solutions to water quality problems.

Panelists will come from a variety of organizations, including the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, the U.S. Forest Service, Lahontan, U.C. Davis and the University of Nevada, Reno.
