MAURICE J. ALLEMAN

Maurice J. Alleman, 60, of Las Vegas died Tuesday at a local hospice. He was born Oct. 7, 1937, in Lafayette, La. A resident for 13 years, he was a slot technician and a Vietnam veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Jillian; two sons, Christopher John Alleman of Honolulu and Maurice John Alleman of Santa Maria, Calif.; two brothers, Leroy Alleman of Cecilia, La., and Clovis Doucet of Florida; two sisters, Verlin Hendon of Sarasota, Fla., and Josephine Felts of Nasville, Tenn.; and one grandchild.

Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Friday at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. Services will be 11 a.m Saturday at the same location. Burial will be private.

WALTER EDWARD BODEN

Walter Edward Boden, 82, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born June 12, 1916, in New Boston, Ill. A resident for nine years, he was the owner of Boden Real Estate of Torrance, Calif., and broker for Moore & Associates of Torrance. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge of Torrance and a member of numerous real estate businesses and organizations of South Carolina.

He is survived by his wife, Lee Hall-Boden; one daughter, Pat Hall of Riverside, Calif.; three sons, Bud Boden of Marietta, Calif., Ron Boden of San Bernardino, Calif., and Jerry Boden of Palos Verdes, Calif.; one step-daughter, Lori Rose Oldson of Hesperia, Calif.; one step-son, R.W. Burdge of Las Vegas; one sister, Myrtle Cruit of East Moline, Ill.; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave.

FREDERICK E. CONKLIN

Frederick E. Conklin, 78, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. He was born April 25, 1920, in Peekskill, N.Y. A resident for nine years, he was a retired brick mason.

He is survived by his wife, Margaret; one daughter, Theresa Booth of Las Vegas; three sons, Frederick Conklin and Ronald Conklin, both of Las Vegas, and Philip Conklin of Downey, Calif.; one brother, George Conklin of Peekskill; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from noon until 3 p.m. services Saturday at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Burial will be 9 a.m. Aug. 12 at Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

ROBIN E. ENDOW

Robin E. Endow, 52, of Las Vegas died Monday at a local care center. She was born Oct. 3, 1945, in Los Angeles. A resident for 35 years, she was a homemaker and active in Japanese American Citizens League in Las Vegas.

She is survived by two sons, William Endow Jr. of New York City and Stephen Endow of Glendale, Calif.; one brother, Stephen Skinner of Galt, Calif.; her mother, Catherine Gowdy, and step-father, Rex Gowdy, both of Wood Ranch, Calif.; and one niece and nephew.

Arrangements were handled by Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

HERMAN FRANK

Herman Frank, 89, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Oct. 27, 1908, in Ohio. A resident for eight years, he owned a gas station and was a member of the Elks, Shriners and Masons.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha "Birdie;" one daughter, Marcia; three brothers, Daniel, Max, Lou and Morrie; two sisters, Esther and Betty; and two grandchildren.

Arrangements were handled by Neptune Society of Nevada, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, Building 5.

SERENA ORCHID GATES

Serena Orchid Gates, 17 months, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born March 9, 1997, in Las Vegas.

She is survived by her parents, Ellie Booker and Cecil Severin Gates, both of Las Vegas; one brother, Severin Gates; one sister, Margarita Booker; and grandparents, Cecil and Angie Gates and Be and Winfred Booker.

Visitation was scheduled 1 to 4 p.m. today at Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Services are private.

ABRIALE ANTOINETTE JACKSON

Abriale Antoinette Jackson, 2 months, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born May 24, 1998, in North Las Vegas.

She is survived by her mother, Romeeka Naytesa Richardson of North Las Vegas; her father, Charles Edward Jackson of Las Vegas; her brother, Arquasheon Ashford of North Las Vegas; her grandparents, Roberta and Nathaniel Richardson of North Las Vegas.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at American Burial & Cremation Services, 310 Foremaster Lane. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.

MARTIN DAVID JONES

Martin David Jones, 40, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Sept. 17, 1957, in Canada. A resident for 1/frac1/2 years, he worked in cable maintenance for a phone company.

He is survived by his parents, David and Dora Jones; two sons, Alex Jones and Jason Jones.

Arrangements were handled by Desert Memorial Cremation & Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

VICTOR WILLIAM KOCHAN

Victor William Kochan, 74, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born March 22, 1924, in Germany. A resident for 10 years, he was a entrepreneur, a World War II Army veteran, a member of Jewish War Veterans and was a Holocaust survivor.

He is survived by his wife, Virginia; one daughter, Lois Siskin of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; and one son, Philip Kochan of Fremont, Calif.

Services were scheduled at 1 p.m. today at Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd.

IVA J. MARTIN

Iva J. Martin, 89, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. She was born, Sept. 19, 1908, in Floris, Iowa. A resident for 35 years, she was a pastry clerk for Vegas Village and a member of the Retail Clerks Union.

She is survived by two sisters, Bernice Buss of Dewey, Ariz., and Ethyl Stater of Ottumwa, Iowa; and one granddaughter, Lynette J. Martin of Las Vegas.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. services Friday at Bunkers Eden Vale Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

EUGENE MILLER

Eugene Miller, 81, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born July 2, 1917, in New Jersey. A resident of two years, he was a machinist.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; three daughters, Dorothy Viola of Florida, Margaret Gosselin of Washington and Eugenia Strickert of Arkansas.

Arrangements were handled by Hites Funeral Services, 438 W. Sunset Road in Henderson.

LLOYD JAMES MILLER

Lloyd James Miller, 75, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born May 21, 1923, in Irvington, N.J. A resident for 38 years, he was a retired supervisor for Centel, a World War II Army Air Corps veteran, a member of the American Legion, a member of the Shriners' Zelzah Temple and Desert Sands Telephone Pioneers.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey; and his mother, Iris Leccese of Las Vegas.

Visitation will be from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday at Davis Paradise Valley Funeral Home, 6200 S. Eastern Ave. Graveside Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Paradise Memorial Gardens.

ANNA P. MUSTACHIA

Anna P. Mustachia, 67, of Henderson died Friday in Henderson. She was born Nov. 18, 1930, in Roswell, N.M. A resident for 35 years, she was a retired hotel PBX operator.

She is survived by her companion, Robert Castle of Henderson; four daughters, Penelope Beardall and Jolene Auspurger, both of Henderson, Kathryn Lynn Mustachia of Oakland, Calif., and Joy Tillery of Cedar City, Utah; one son, Richard E. Mustachia of St. George, Utah; and nine grandchildren.

Services were this morning at Arrowhead LDS Chapel, 801 Arrowhead Trail. Arrangements were handled by Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

RUTH ANN OBENCHAIN

Ruth Ann Obenchain, 59, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born July 22, 1939, in Salina, Kansas. A resident for five years, she was a retired airline reservationist, worked in real estate and two years for Circus Circus.

She is survived by her mother, Irene Obenchain of Kansas; four sisters, Phyllis Fry of Texas, Janie Minneman and Glenna Wilmouth, both of Kansas, and Carmen Renfrow of California.

Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Greensburg, Kan. Arrangements were handled by Hites Funeral Home, 438 W. Sunset Road.

JAMES O'KEEFE

James O'Keefe, 69, of Las Vegas died June 24 in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 15, 1928, in New York. He was a longtime resident.

Burial will be private. Arrangements were handled by Hites Funeral Services, Inc., 438 W. Sunset Road in Henderson.

PAULINE H. OLIVER

Pauline H. Oliver, 86, of Henderson died Sunday in Henderson. She was born Feb. 19, 1912, in Tulare, Calif. A resident of 56 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Donna Koehler of Albany, Ore.; two sons, Skip Southers of Chico, Calif., and Paul Southers of Henderson; 10 grandchildren and eight grandchildren.

Visitation will be 9 a.m until 10 a.m. services Friday at Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson.

MABEL KINNEY-ROBERTS

Mabel Kinney-Roberts, 86, of Henderson died Tuesday at a local hospital. She was born June 8, 1912, in New Bedford, Mass. A resident for one year, she was a retired bookkeeper in real estate.

She is survived by one daughter, Charlene J. Minear of Reno; one son, R.J. "Bob" Roberts of Henderson; and three grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

VERENA ROSE

Verena Rose, 85, of North Las Vegas died June 19 at a local care center. She was born Jan. 23, 1913, in Orange County, Calif. A resident for 30 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews.

Graveside services were Tuesday at Southern Nevada Veterans Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd.

GARY ROSENAU

Gary Rosenau, 58, of Henderson died Tuesday at a local hospice. He was born Nov. 12, 1939, in Shanghai, China. A resident for five years, he worked maintenance in the air conditioning industry, was a Vietnam War Air Force veteran, a member of the United Auto Workers Union and a retiree of General Motors Electro-Motive Division.

He is survived by his wife, Laurie; two daughters, Sandra Rosenau of Las Vegas and Rebecca Rosenau of Henderson; one step-daughter, Ronni Neuman of Anaheim, Calif.; two step-sons David Cramer of Henderson and Geoffrey Neuman of Las Vegas; two sisters Marlene Nelson and Cristy Teich, both of Naperville, Ill.; and seven grandchildren.

Arrangements were handled by Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

The family suggests that donations be made to Nathan Addelson Hospice, 4141 S. Swenson St., Las Vegas, NV 89119.

WILLIAM GEORGE SCHAFFRATH

William George Schaffrath, 84, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Jan. 15, 1914, in Chicago. A resident of 14 years, he was a dispatcher for an alarm company.

He is survived by one daughter, Edna Emerick of Las Vegas; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Visitation will continue until 8 p.m. today at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Bunkers. Burial will be at Bunkers Eden Vale Memorial Park.

ARTHUR D. SCHLAUDER

Arthur D. Schlauder, 79, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born June 8, 1919, in Downers Grove, Ill. A resident of 61 years, he was a retired owner in the steel fabrication industry and a member of the Kiwanis Club of Las Vegas.

He is survived by his wife, Janet; one daughter, Georgia Van Patten, and one son, Allyn Schlauder, both of Las Vegas; and seven grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at Palm Mortuary, 1600 S. Jones Blvd. Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Memory Gardens, 7251 W. Lone Mountain Road. An additional service will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Griffith United Methodist Church.

Donations may be sent to the M. Marion Miller Alzheimer Center in Las Vegas or the Griffith United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.

JULIE MAE SMITH

Julie Mae Smith, 66, of Las Vegas died July 13 at a local hospice. She was born Jan. 28, 1932, in Inglewood, Calif. A resident for 38 years, she was a laborer in the aircraft industry.

She is survived by two sons, Ronald and Michael; two daughters, Sherri and Yvonne; one sister, La Vonne; and five grandchildren.

Services will be 7 p.m. Friday at the LDS chapel at Alta Drive and Jones Boulevard.

PAUL LINELY "RED" SUMNER

Paul Linely 'Red' Sumner, 80, of Las Vegas died Sunday at a local care center. He was born Oct. 7, 1917, in Raymond, Calif. A resident of 60 years, he was a retired cattle ranch cowboy and Clark County night watchman.

He is survived by four sons, Paul, Rusty Lee, Todd and Charlie; one daughter, Susan Choate; three sisters, Laree Crooker, Christine Black and Marilyn; 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

Services were this morning at the Gateway and Wyoming LDS chapel. Arrangements were handled by Desert Memorial Cremation & Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

ALBERT ANTHONY VAN DE PUTTE

Albert Anthony Van De Putte, 82, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born Dec. 8, 1915, in Illinois. A resident of nine years, he was a garment presser, an Army veteran and lifetime member of Moose Lodge.

He is survived by four daughters, Paula Oliphant, Jeanne Strott, Joyce Bethel and Corrine Mason; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Burial was Wednesday at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by the Desert Memorial Cremation & Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

JUDITH SUSAN WIKLER

Judith Susan Wikler, 50, of Henderson died Tuesday at a hospital in Laguna Hills, Calif. She was born March 3, 1948, in Pennsylvania. A resident for five years, she was a writer and journalist and member of the Sisterhood of Ner Tamid.

She is survived by her husband, Abraham; one daughter, Jaime Wikler, and two sons, Michael Wikler and Eric Wikler, all of Henderson; her parents, Jack and Claire Bass of Las Vegas; and one brother, Steven Bass of Henderson.

Services were scheduled at 11 a.m. today at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

ANGELA ROSE WILLIAMS

Angela Rose Williams, 30, of Las Vegas and Emily Rose Williams, stillborn, died Monday in Las Vegas.

Angela Rose was born May 29, 1968, in San Francisco. A resident for six years, she was a retail accounting clerk at a hotel-casino.

She is survived by her husband, Kim; her parents, Alfred and Norma Calacal of Union City, Calif.; one sister, Christina Garcia of Las Vegas; and two brothers, Philip Calacal and Alfred Calacal Jr., both of Union City.

Emily Rose is survived by her father, Kim Williams of Las Vegas; and her grandparents, Alfred and Norma Calacal of Union City and Jeanette Williams of Las Vegas.

Visitation for mother and daughter will be 7 to 9 p.m. today at Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North. An additional visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. services Friday at the Smoke Ranch LDS chapel. Burial will be at Bunker Memory Gardens Memorial Park.
