Police were awaiting autopsy results today to determine what killed a woman whose body was found in an air conditioning duct at a Las Vegas motel.
Motel employees at the Del Mar Resort Motel, 1411 Las Vegas Blvd. South, made the gruesome discovery, calling police after finding a bulky garbage bag inside the duct at 12:36 p.m. Wednesday. The bag had been placed there from inside the room by removing the air filter and screen, said homicide Lt. Wayne Petersen.
Officers responding to the call could see what appeared to be a woman's leg upon opening the bag and notified homicide investigators.
A manager at the Del Mar this morning said the room had been checked a few days ago by a man. He said there did not appear to be any luggage left behind.
