Good Samaritans rescue woman in fiery Nevada crash

Olivia Robertson, 22, was pulled from a burning sports utility vehicle following a crash Thursday on Interstate 15 north of Primm, Nev.

"I think it's safe to say that if these individuals had not been there when they were, she would not have made it," said Trooper Scott Flabi, a spokesman for the Nevada Highway Patrol.

Flabi said Robertson was strapped in the vehicle when Jody Lee Pickering of Phelan, Calif. and David Roberts of Pomona, Calif. came to her aid. He said they forced open the driver's side while the vehicle was on fire. Pickering then climbed into the vehicle and pulled Robertson to safety.

Robertson suffered broken bones in her wrist and ankle.

The driver was thrown from the vehicle and died at the scene.

His name was not released pending notification of relatives.

Flabi said the accident occurred when the vehicle drifted into the median and the driver overcorrected. The vehicle spun out of control and flipped three times.
