Having ear wax removed might nix hearing aid

After 60-plus years of life, I began to realize that I may be losing my hearing -- especially in my right ear.

While attending a health fair, showing on a screen was the appearance of a massive "glob" in my ear ... obviously wax.

Before attempting the route of possibly needing a hearing aid, I contacted a Quick-Care and arranged for wax removal.

Nowadays this is a painless action. Warm water is used in order to "irrigate." A syringe is no longer used.

Voila! I no longer have to keep saying to others "what" or "please speak louder" and, best of all, I can now hear everyone speaking at meetings. My television is also now at a lower setting.

The technician agreed that if people experiencing a hearing problem would elect to have wax removed initially, perhaps a hearing aid would not be necessary.

My apologies to hearing aid suppliers, but health care providers may also be grateful for saving the expense.
