Edith Olivia Araby, 68, of Las Vegas died July 31 in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 11, 1929, in California. A resident of eight years, she was a driver in the transportation service.

She is survived by one son, Guy Araby of California, one daughter, Katherine Kelley, and two sisters, Ruby Brand and Audrey Casebolt, all of California; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Arrangements were handled by Hites Funeral Home Inc., 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson.

CONNIE E. BAILEY

Connie E. Bailey, 74, of Las Vegas died Wednesday at a local hospice. She was born Sept. 9, 1923, in Missouri. A resident of one year, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by two sons, William Bailey and Larry Bailey; four daughters, Kay Jenne, Vicki Roginsky, Marlyn Shullo and Leslie Grandberg; one brother, Joseph F. Gaddy; 11 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Arrangements were handled by Desert Memorial, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

JOHN DELMAR DOTY III

John Delmar Doty III, 37, of Las Vegas died Tuesday in Las Vegas. He was born Aug. 13, 1960, in San Bernardino, Calif. A resident for 12 years, he was a self-employed gardener.

He is survived by his father, John; his mother, Betty; two sisters, Sharon V. Morrison and Kelly J. Basham.

Services will be 6 to 7 p.m. today at Apostolic Church, 1665 Lindell Road. An additional service will be 6 p.m. Saturday at the same location.

HELEN ELLINGSON

Helen Ellingson, 41, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 7, 1956. A resident for six months, she was a cashier in a restaurant.

She is survived by her father, Edward Ellingson of Lake Tahoe, Calif.; her mother, June Ellingson of Reno; one brother, Mark Ellingson of South Lake Tahoe, Calif.; and one sister, Sandy Churchill of Las Vegas.

Burial will be at the Homestead cemetery in South Lake Tahoe. Arrangements were handled by Hites Funeral Services, Inc., 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson.

CONSTANCE R. HAUSER

Constance R. Hauser, 74, of Las Vegas died Tuesday at a local hospital. She was born July 11, 1924, in Everett, Wash. A resident for 14 years, she was a costume designer at a college, a member of Mensa, the Scrabble Club of America and a painter with the Las Vegas Art Museum.

She is survived by three sons, Robert Lawson and Fred Hauser, both of Torrance, Calif., and Eric Hauser of Crescent City, Calif.; three daughters, JoAnn Hauser of Redondo Beach, Calif., Elizabeth Dupin de St. Cyr of Torrance and Christine Smith of Lawndale, Calif.; one sister, Eileen Burdg of Crescent City; one brother, Robert Mathiason of Columbia, Calif.; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services were scheduled at noon today at Bunkers Chapel, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

SHIRLEY JACOBSON

Shirley Jacobson, 90, of Las Vegas died Wednesday at a local hospital. She was born May 30, 1908, in New York. A resident for 16 months, she was a typist in nursing education.

She is survived by her daughter, Frances Jacobson.

Arrangements were handled by Neptune Society of Nevada, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, Building 5.

RONALD EUGENE JONES SR.

Ronald Eugene Jones Sr., 56, of North Las Vegas died July 31 in North Las Vegas. He was born June 1, 1942, in Iowa. A longtime resident, he was a dishwasher.

He is survived by his son, Ronald E. Jones Jr. of Iowa.

Graveside services were scheduled this morning at Woodlawn Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Hites Funeral Services, Inc. 438 W. Sunset Road, Henderson.

ANNA M. LASTUFKA

Anna M. Lastufka, 85, of Las Vegas died Tuesday at a local hospital. She was born March 11, 1913, in White City, Ill. A resident for 19 years, she was a homemaker and a member of the Moose Lodge in North las Vegas.

She is survived by her husband, Charles; two daughters, Mary Lou Manley of Henderson and Eileen Bernatawicz of Glendale, Ariz.; one son, David Lastufka of San Francisco; two sisters, Lillian Janota of Berwin, Ill. and Helen Trojak of Naperville, Ill.; and five grandchildren.

Arrangements were handled by Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

The family suggests donations be made to Catholic Charities.

DOROTHY BICKERMAN LAW

Dorothy Bickerman Law, 81, of Las Vegas died Wednesday at a local hospital. She was born April 2, 1917, in Kansas. A resident for 10 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Martha Law Conrad of Las Vegas; and one sister, Betty Bickerman of Kansas.

Services and burial will take place in Kansas City, Mo. Arrangements were handled by Desert Memorial Cremation & Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

HELEN MARIE MARINAN

Helen Marie Marinan, 78, of Las Vegas died Sunday in Las Vegas. She was born Oct. 30, 1919, in Cleveland. A resident for 28 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one son, Terrence R. Marinan of Las Vegas; and one sister, Stella Aron of Cleveland.

Services were private. Arrangements were handled by Bunkers Mortuary, 925 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

RONALD E. MARTIN

Ronald E. Martin, 52, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. He was born April 26, 1946, in Reno. A lifelong resident, he was a warehouse supervisor for the U.S. Geological Survey, a Vietnam War Navy veteran and a member of Teamsters Local 631.

He is survived his wife, Marva; two daughters, Roni Renea Martin and Monique Martin, one son, Douglas Martin, and one sister, Suzanne Hatch, all of Las Vegas.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Lone Mountain LDS Chapel, 5601 W. Lone Mountain Road.

KENNETH 'GUY' SAWYER

Kenneth "Guy" Sawyer, 36, of Las Vegas died Tuesday at a local hospital. He was born Aug. 1, 1962, in Las Vegas. A lifelong resident, he was a dental technician.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen; one son, Kolton Guy Sawyer, and his parents, Frances and Kenneth Sawyer, all of Las Vegas; two brothers, Michael "Kody" Sawyer of Las Vegas and Kurtis Sawyer of Pocatello, Idaho.

Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave. Services will be 3 p.m. Monday at the same location. Burial will follow at Palm Valley View Memorial Park.

WILLIAM H. SMITH

William H. Smith, 45, of Las Vegas died July 31 at a local hospital. He was born June 12, 1953, in Nashville, Tenn. A resident for 14 years, he was a lawyer.

He is survived by his fiancee, Mary T. Aiken of Las Vegas.

Services were scheduled at 2 p.m. today at Christ Church Episcopal, 200 S. Maryland Parkway. Arrangements were handled by Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

ZOILO I. SOTO

Zoilo I. Soto, 76, of Las Vegas died Tuesday at a local hospital. He was born Nov. 12, 1921, in Cabanatuan, Philippines. A resident for six years, he was a retired attorney and a member of the Las Vegas Organs Musical Club.

He is survived by his wife, Amelia O. of Las Vegas; one daughter, Marissa L. Winfrey of Glendale, Calif., and one sister, Herminia S. Aguilar of Quezon City, Philippines.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Burial will be at Palm Memorial Park Northwest. Arrangements were handled by Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

EMILIE H. SUTHERLAND

Emilie H. Sutherland, 89, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in Las Vegas. She was born Feb. 20, 1909, in Spokane, Wash. A resident for three years, she was a retired traffic operator for the telephone company.

She is survived by one son, Donald F. Johnson of Las Vegas; 13 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at the San Bruno Funeral Home, San Bruno, Calif. Arrangements were handled by Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St.

Antonio Trillo, 88, of North Las Vegas died Tuesday at a local hospital. He was born Oct. 15, 1909, in Mexico. A resident for 37 years, he was a retired welder in ornamental ironwork and a member of the Culinary Union.

He is survived by his wife, Epigmenia E.; four daughters, Remedios Velarde, Rosa Biorato, Maria Trillo and Leticia Trillo, all of Las Vegas; one step-son, Raul Lopez of El Paso, Texas; one step-daughter, Graciela Pina of Mexico; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Palm Mortuary, 1325 N. Main St. An additional visitation will be 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday at the same location. Services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Christopher Catholic Church. Graveside services will follow at Palm Mortuary 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

VERA M. TYLER

Vera M. Tyler, 81, of Las Vegas died Tuesday at a local hospital. She was born Nov. 6, 1916, in Butte, Mont. A resident for two years, she was a casino cashier and member of Incline Hospital Auxiliary.

She is survived by four sons; William Sinkunus, Wayne Waltrip, Neil Brooks and Stan Tiner; three daughters, Sheila Waltrip, Barbara Brooks and Mildred Tiner; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Services will be in September in Incline Village. Arrangements were handled by Desert Memorial Cremation & Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North.

CLYDE HARVEY WATTS

Clyde Harvey Watts, 64, of Las Vegas died July 31 at a local hospital. He was born Dec. 2, 1933, in Lineville, Ala. A resident for 28 years, he was a porter in a local casino, a Korean War Army veteran, a clown for the Shrine Circus and a member of the Veterans Club.

He is survived by his mother, Irene Watts of Atlanta and one sister, Margaret Allison, both of Atlanta.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to noon Sunday at Davis Funeral Home, 2127 W. Charleston Blvd. Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday at Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
