Several Las Vegas youths earn top rank of Eagle Scout

In an Eagle Court of Honor:

Vance Robert Bohman, 15, of Las Vegas, became an Eagle Scout. He previously held the scouting offices of patrol leader and scout. The Silverado High School freshman enjoys football, wrestling, track and field, and is on the honor roll and has various leadership positions in his young men's group.

David Lyle Vaughn, 18, of Las Vegas, became an Eagle Scout. He previously held the scouting offices of patrol leader and assistant patrol leader. The Vo Tech High School senior enjoys computers, photography, is a member of JASM and L.D.S. 6th ward.

Jason Gouker, 18, of Las Vegas, became an Eagle Scout. He previously held the scouting office of senior patrol leader. The Bonanza High School senior was student of the month in wood shop and likes welding. He won grand prize in a cabinet making contest in 1996.

Zachary August Larson, 18, of Las Vegas, became an Eagle Scout. The Western High School senior is a member of football, basketball, volleyball, valedictorian, and student council treasurer.

Ryan Gregory, 18, of Las Vegas, became an Eagle Scout. He previously held the scouting office of senior patrol leader. The Cimarron-Memorial High School senior is a member of Painted Desert Ward, likes computers and is involved with DECA.

Jonathan M. Ford, 18, of Las Vegas, became an Eagle Scout. He previously held the scouting offices of senior patrol leader and scout leader. He was also quorum president, deacon preacher and priest. The Basic High School senior is a member of orchestra, and has academic honors.

Evan Hansmire, 16, of Las Vegas, became an Eagle Scout. He previously was a first aid instructor. The Clark High School freshman is an honor student and likes reading and karate.

Michael Purviance, 18, of Las Vegas, became an Eagle Scout. The Bonanza High School junior is a member of drama and collects CDs.

David Massey, 18, of Las Vegas, became an Eagle Scout. He previously held the scouting offices of secretary, patrol leader and president. The Cheyenne High School senior is a member of internet and German clubs, the volleyball team and was voted "most artistic."

Nathan Thompson, 14, of Las Vegas, became an Eagle Scout. He previously held the scouting offices of senior patrol leader, assistant patrol leader and den chief. The Lied Middle School senior is a member of boys chorus of Southern Nevada, makes models and loves reading.

Harland Asa Hendricks, 18, of Las Vegas, became an Eagle Scout. He previously held the scouting offices of senior patrol leader and assistant senior patrol leader. The Durango High School senior is a member of the varsity soccer team, National Honor Society and has an honors diploma.
