Letter: Reader takes exception to Sun guest columnist

Twenty to 30 years ago Las Vegas was Mayberry. I know. I loved it. I lived it.

Hollingsworth doesn't know what he's talking about. What 36 companies have come here and given our longtime residents all these high paying jobs?

He talks about us now having three dozen golf courses. Who in blazes can afford them? We have 150 parks. Can the homeless sleep in them? And cultural organizations, what are they -- who are they?

The problems we had 20 years ago were pieces of pies, compared to the ugly problems we now have. We had no drive-by shootings. We didn't find dead bodies everywhere. We didn't have all-nude nasty clubs. We didn't have a shortage of policemen.

We didn't need or even think about putting in a burglar alarm in our homes. We had no home invasions then.

So what is he talking about, or did he write this article from another town, for another town?
