Cop accused of appearing in pornographic videos

A Metro Police patrolman is awaiting his superiors' decision about how he will be disciplined for appearing in several pornographic videos and then lying to investigators about when the films were made.

Officer Lynn Irwin's punishment for violating department policy could range from an oral reprimand to termination, said Lt. Rick Alba, Metro spokesman.

Although the department typically does not release details of an investigation nor publicly disclose subsequent disciplinary measures, Metro did confirm that Irwin appeared in a series of movies entitled "Kitty's Kinky Videos."

Metro's vice section discovered the videos last month, prompting the Internal Affairs Bureau to launch its investigation which concluded last week by sustaining charges against Irwin, 29, of misconduct and not telling the truth.

Irwin, who is assigned to the Downtown Area Command, told investigators that the videos were made before he hired on at Metro, but IAB determined that at least one was made as recently as this year. While not specifically stated in the manual, appearing in a pornographic movie is considered conduct unbecoming an employee which the policy states as bringing "public discredit" upon Metro.
