Fishing report -- August 12, 1998

LAKE MEAD: Striped bass fishing is now nearly as hot as the August weather, with fish being caught throughout the lake on surface plugs and at depth with anchovies and sardines. Shore anglers are finding fair success at the 33 Hole and Government Wash. Cut baits are taking most of the stripers in those areas.

LAKE MOHAVE: Rainbow trout fishing has been spectacular for shore anglers, float tubers and boaters at Willow Beach. A pair of anglers said they had no trouble catching limits of 10 trout each last week at Jumbo Wash.
