Letter: Give KUNV listener her jazz, or she wants donation back
Wednesday, Aug. 12, 1998 | 11:28 a.m.
I believed the propaganda about it being a community station, and most of us who support KUNV are adults who love jazz. I am a UNLV alum (1977 and 1981), and I cannot abide the rock alley, rap, nonsense type of nonmusic. I gave money to KUNV this year because of the increased hours devoted to jazz.
If they are going to retreat to the teen stuff, I want my money back because I won't be listening. Are they prepared to tell all donors like myself that they took our money and now are not going to play the type of music we expected when we subscribed?
They should start publishing the figures: how much money students contribute to the maintenance and upkeep of the station versus how much is spent by the taxpayers, and the local jazz lovers who subscribe to the station.
