Charles Jefferson Armijo, 77, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local care center. He was born June 7, 1921, in Albuquerque, N.M. A resident for 25 years, he was a paint salesman and an Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores; two sons, Gregory and Patrick; two daughters, Denise and Connie; one brother, Joseph; and one sister, Isabelle Jones.

THETIS I. ARTHINGTON

Thetis I. Arthington, 92, of North Augusta, S.C., died Saturday in Augusta, Ga. She was born June 24, 1906, in Horry County, N.C. A former Las Vegas resident for 54 years until 1996, she was a homemaker and a former member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary of Boulder City.

She is survived by one daughter, Louise B. Marshall of Trenton, S.C.; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation was scheduled one hour prior to 2:30 p.m. services today in Palm Mortuary, 800 S. Boulder Highway, Henderson, followed by burial in Palm Memorial Park, Henderson.

MICHAEL W. BOYLE

Michael W. Boyle, 53, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. He was born July 14, 1945, in Inglewood, Calif. A resident for 51 years, he was a truck driver and a member of the Teamsters Union.

He is survived by his wife, Catharine; his father, George Boyle of Washington state; his mother, Madeline "Thalia" Boyle of Las Vegas; and one brother, Patrick Boyle of San Diego.

MIRIAM 'MITZI' BURACHIO

Miriam "Mitzi" Burachio, 81, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. She was born Sept. 4, 1916, in Philadelphia. A resident for 25 years, she was a homemaker.

She is survived by one daughter, Joan Cipriani of Las Vegas; two sisters, Beatrice Taviano and Francis Harris, and one brother, Bernard Klempfner, all of Atlantic City, N.J.

Graveside services will be 3 p.m. Sunday in Palm Mortuary, 7600 S. Eastern Ave.

James D. Dean, 55, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. He was born April 2, 1943, in Cherryville, Ark. A resident for 10 years, he was a musician.

He is survived by two sons, James L. Dean of Plainfield, Ill., and John Dean of Westmont, Ill.

SHIRLEY FATH

Shirley Fath, 62, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Sept. 26, 1935, in Fairfield, Pa. A resident for 27 years, she was a legal secretary for a public utility.

She is survived by her husband, John A.; one sister, Jane Malone of Miami; and two brothers, Paul Baumgardner of Cherry Hill, N.J., and Thomas Baumgardner of Knoxville, Tenn.

RONALD GOLDSTEIN

Ronald Goldstein, 63, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. He was born Sept. 11, 1934, in Los Angeles. A resident for more than 40 years, he was a retired plumbing contractor, a Korean War Army veteran and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Palacios, Texas.

He is survived by his wife; one son; other family members; and many friends.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Palm Mortuary, 7400 W. Cheyenne Ave.

LINDA I. GRACEY

Linda I. Gracey, 45, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a local hospital. She was born Oct. 16, 1952, in Washington, D.C. A resident for five years, she was a dental assistant.

She is survived by one daughter, Shiela Whedon of San Jose, Calif.; her mother, Irene Roberts of Las Vegas; two brothers, Royce Roberts of Minnesota and Daniel Roberts of Pahoa, Hawaii; and her grandmother, Mary Roberts of Indianapolis.

ALFRED SUPERIOR HOGGATT

Alfred Superior Hoggatt, 82, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. He was born Feb. 22, 1916, in Benton Harbor, Mich. A resident for 14 years, he was a retired Air Force staff sergeant after 22 years, a World War II and Korean War veteran and a postal worker for 12 years.

He is survived by his wife, Mercedes; two daughters, Cynthia Hoggatt and Cheryl Hoggatt; two sons, Michael Hoggatt and Alfred Hoggatt III, all of Los Angeles; one stepdaughter, Tess S. Klug of Peoria, Ariz.; two sisters, Marguerite White and Virginia Williams, both of Los Angeles; numerous nieces and nephews; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Bonnie Mae Itson, 56, of Las Vegas died Saturday in Las Vegas. She was born Nov. 17, 1941, in California. A resident for 45 years, she was a soft-count cashier.

She is survived by her husband, Lon; one daughter, Brenda Fend; one brother, Charles Whited; and three grandchildren.

DARNELL LAMONT HANKSTON JOHNSON

Darnell Lamont Hankston Johnson, 19, of Las Vegas died Aug. 5 in Las Vegas. He was born May 19, 1979, in Las Vegas. He was a hospital kitchen worker.

He is survived by two sons, Lamarian Johnson and Darnell Lamont Johnson Jr., one daughter, Keyara Smith, his mother, Bonita Johnson, his father, Darnell Lee Hankston, two brothers, Tyree Fuller and Darnell Hankston Smith, and two sisters, Zykeisha Johnson and Aricka Hankston, all of Las Vegas; and his grandparents, Joe E. Johnson of Fresno, Calif., and Mary E. Hurst and Maxerine Hankston, both of Las Vegas.

Betty E. Maynard, 47, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local hospital. She was born May 25, 1951, in Cleveland. A resident for 19 years, she was a restaurateur.

She is survived by her husband, Steve; one daughter, Rebecca Grayson of Las Vegas; her mother, Wanda Marcum of Euclid, Ohio; and one brother, David Rosenburg of Liverpool, N.Y.; and two grandchildren.

Irwin B. Miller, 77, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born April 18, 1921, in Massachusetts. A resident for 25 years, he was a retired showroom captain and a World War II Army veteran.

He is survived by one son, Brian Miller of North Hollywood, Calif.; and one sister, Ellen Segal of Massachusetts.

Michael Miller, 61, of Las Vegas died Sunday in a Los Angeles veterans medical center. He was born Oct. 2, 1936, in Warren, Ohio. A resident for 23 years, he was a security officer at the Desert Inn and a Korean War Air Force veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Miriam; two daughters, Miriam "Chris" and Ann Miller, and one son, Tony Miller, all of Las Vegas; his mother, Cecila of Campbell, Ohio; and three grandchildren.

Theresa B. Miller, 67, of Las Vegas died Saturday in a local health care center. She was born Oct. 21, 1930, in Frackville, Pa. A resident for 28 years, he was a retired retail clerk.

She is survived by her husband, Frederick; three daughters, Karen Coleman, Debra Ellenberger and Lauren Homan, all of Las Vegas; two brothers, John Krebs of Quakertown, Pa., and Thomas Krebs of Huntington Valley, Pa.; three sisters, Rose Ferraro and Elsie Pagano, both of Reading, Pa., and Helen Swartz of Mahanoy City, Pa.; and four grandchildren.

Gene B. O'Brien, 81, of Roseburg, Ore., died Friday in a Eugene, Ore. hospital. He was born Dec. 26, 1916, in California. A former Las Vegas resident for 67 years, he was a retired bus driver for the city of Las Vegas, a retired member of the Teamsters Union and one of the first bus drivers with the City Transportation Department.

He is survived by one daughter, Julie Malone, one son, Bill Haddenham, and one brother, Mike Alter, all of Las Vegas; four sisters, Gertrude McLaughlin of Arkansas, Evelyn Singleton of Arizona and Phylis Glasscock and Pat Schooley, both of Las Vegas; one aunt, Emily Lake Nowell of California; numerous cousins; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

John R. Pippin, 46, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospice. He was born June 18, 1952, in Quincy, Ill. A resident for seven years, he was a retired refrigeration technician for the Air Force and a member of the Knights of Columbus.

He is survived by his wife, Chong; one daughter, Charolette Kim Pippin of Las Vegas; his father, John B. Pippin of Marion, Ill.; and one sister, Katherine Pauley of Springfield, Ill.

Billie J. Pruett, 73, of Las Vegas died Monday in a local hospital. She was born Nov. 14, 1924, in Dorchester, Va. A resident for 21 years, she was a hotel porter.

She is survived by three daughters, Shirley Pope, Marcia Chavis and Geneva Dimalanta, all of Las Vegas; one sister, Edith Johnston, and one brother, Coy Burke, both of Michigan; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Henry R. Roberts, 74, of Las Vegas died Wednesday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 1, 1923, in Pennsylvania. A resident for 42 years, he was a box man at the Sahara hotel-casino and an Army veteran.

He is survived by his wife, Gertrude; and one brother, William Roberts.

Alice Avgela Schramko, 87, of Las Vegas died Monday in Las Vegas. A resident for 26 years, she was born Dec. 26, 1910, in Mammath, Pa.
