Firefighter models to help find homes for Dalmatians

The stars of the new 1999 Southern Nevada Fire Fighter Calendar are teaming up at a special fund-raiser Friday to help fight muscular dystrophy and find families for homeless Dalmatians.

El Portal Luggage is hosting the event from 2 to 5 p.m. at its Forum Shops location in Caesars Palace hotel-casino.

Mr. January, Mr. February, Mr. March, and on down the list, will each make their grand entrances alongside a spotted four-legged friend looking for a new home.

The handsome hunks will be available to autograph copies of their calendars, which sell for $9.99. A photographer also will be on hand for anyone interested in having a picture taken with the firefighters and the dogs. All proceeds benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association of Southern Nevada which fights numerous debilitating and deadly diseases.

Randy Warner of the non-profit Dalmatian ResQ was driving the dogs up from his Southern California shelter today for Friday's event hoping to find them homes here before he leaves town this weekend.
