Inmate dies of apparent suicide

Prison spokesman Glen Whorton said Michael Valentine, found dead early Monday, was housed alone and left a note. There were no signs of foul play.

Valentine was in administrative segregation awaiting transfer to another prison facility. He had been on probation for possession of a stolen credit card when arrested in Washoe County for burglary and forgery. That got him a minimum of nearly four years in prison last February.
