Robert Harrison Jennings was sentenced on Tuesday by Washoe District Judge Steven Kosach. He will serve at least 60 years behind bars.
Jennings was arrested 13 months ago in Reno and was convicted of eight robberies, seven involving seniors. Some of the robberies included beatings at victims' homes.
One 85-year-old woman said Jennings showed up at her house and said a real estate agent had told him the house was for sale. She said Jennings then hit her 8-10 times. She was hospitalized for two days.
Jennings was on parole on burglary and drug charges at the time.
