Letter: Veteran's patriotic spirit is revived by new movie

It opened with our flag displayed, waving in a breeze (like a welcoming) and ended as it began, except that its welcome became an everlasting farewell to buddies, comrades, friends and patriots.

Many years ago, along with other draftees and volunteers, I swore an allegiance to defend our Constitution and protect our flag and nation from all enemies.

Since I am a military retiree, I must continue to abide by the Uniform Code of Military Justice, and because I'm trying to be a law-abiding citizen, it is my duty to defend and guard all of the above.
