Libertarians host debate

The Libertarian Party of Clark County will hold a debate between Congressional candidates in District 1 at the West Sahara Library tonight (Wednesday) at 6:30.

Scheduled to take part in the debate are Libertarian candidate Jim Burns, Independent American Jess Howe and Republican Richard Gardner.

Cheryl Godfrey of KDWN Radio has agreed to act as the moderator of the debate.

Upcoming Libertarian events include a Sept. 16 meeting with Irwin Schiff, a noted tax fighter, and an Oct. 21 meeting with Nancy Lord Johnson, Libertarian Party vice presidential candidate in 1992.

Meet the Candidates

Assemblywoman Barbara Cegavske will host a "Meet the Candidates" night today at 10001 Harpoon Circle from 6-8 p.m.

Candidates scheduled to appear include Kenny Guinn, Scott Scherer, Brian Krollcki, Sheriff Jerry Keller, Jim Mahan, Tammy Bass and Richard Ziser. For more information contact 341-8452.
