Lora Watts named Nevada Bell's new president

Lora Watts replaces David Nichols, who held the position since July 1997. Nichols will become Pacific Bell's Southern California regional president.
Pacific Bell and Nevada Bell are subsidiaries of San Antonio-based SBC Communications, a $74 billion telecommunications giant.
Watts now runs SBC Communications' chief executive office, handling scheduling and coordinating speeches for SBC Chief Executive Edward E. Whitacre Jr.
She's a 1979 graduate of Trinity University in San Antonio with a bachelor's degree in business administration.
Nevada Bell provides telephone service for much of Nevada north of Las Vegas.
