Letter: Children dying in car trunks were tragic accidents -- nothing more
Monday, Aug. 24, 1998 | 9:24 a.m.
In regards to Victoria McDonald's letter to the editor (Aug. 18), "Who left the car trunks open to allow children to get in?" Nobody, it was just an accident.
Hello, Victoria, where have you been for the last 10-15 years? You don't just need a key anymore to open a trunk. You can open them from a button in the glove compartment or even a latch behind the front seat, among other ways.
Instead of trying to find someone to blame it on, just take it for what it was, a very tragic accident.
