Letter: We should have known what we were getting with Clinton

The man spoke the truth, but he was wrong to have opened his mouth. The Air Force did the right thing. He was fined and forced to retire from the Air Force at a lower rank. This action was taken because it was in the nation's best interest.

We couldn't handle the truth then, and we can not handle the truth now. Where is our moral compass? How can he infer that sex in our Oval Office is private? Clinton is a felon, and we are wondering what to do with him. He is mentally unstable, but what is wrong with us? Yes, we all make mistakes, but Clinton is our leader. He committed perjury. Fire him?

We made a mistake by electing him. We knew about his character flaws and elected him anyway. I even voted for him. I chose to ignore the defining moment in Clinton's development. We all knew that he manipulated the draft, and let another man go to war in his place.

We should not have made the draft dodger commander-in-chief. That act of manipulation defined Clinton's character, just as surely as "patriotic" defined the character of the men who obeyed their nation's call to military service. I guess we insulted some of those brave men by electing him as our commander-in-chief.

He cannot lead with this cloud over his head. Clinton has given us a chance to correct our mistake, and we act like we don't know what to do with him. He should be impeached, just as surely as the general's career was abruptly ended. It is in the nation's best interest.
