Worker crushed in practice round crash dies month later

Phil Kane, 42, of Miami died Sunday at St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach, according to hospital officials.
Driver John Davis of Fort Myers, Fla., was killed and another track worker was injured in the July 18 crash.
Davis was leading by about five lengths while traveling at about 150 mph when his Corvette started to swerve. The car skidded, hit a beam and sailed onto a concrete corner station.
Kane and Davis were crushed by concrete and pinned under the car.
Kathy Nada of Miami was hit by concrete and suffered a knee injury.
