Company opens Fallon facility

The $1.5 million, 18,500-square-foot facility planned by Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corp. will manufacture decking material used in conjunction with products made by SMI Joist for construction project.

County officials said construction could begin as soon as the company secures industrial revenue bonds from the state.

To assist in the bonding effort, Churchill County commissioners voted to transfer the county's bond allocation of nearly $660,000 to the state.

Wheeling Pittsburgh is seeking $2.6 million in revenue bonds to purchase equipment for the operation.
