County creates Pahrump building department

The department, which begins operation on Oct. 1, will be run by Charles Abbott and Associates, which will receive a percentage of fees paid for permits and inspections.

The ordinance establishing the department and fee system included an Oct. 1, 2001 sunset clause, meaning commissioners will have to approve it again if they want the department to continue after that date.
